If paper ballots that are fed into the machine are kept, then a hand recount would catch that discrepancy. (I don’t know if that is the case or not in Georgia, but for the absentee ballots (which is what most of the fuss is about) the paper ballots exist. The question with them is not how many votes are for whom, but how many votes were fraudulent.

They had a full week to come up with paper ballots to match the machine count.

And during the GA recount there were discrepancies but the state told county election officials to go with the first numbers. This was uncovered by Jenny Beth Martin (Tea Party Patriots). Others did come forward and were fired and the errors were blamed on user error. Dominion execs were involved in these recounts in key counties as well.
