“Der hur… IZ Notta Votingz no MORAH!!!!l
The GOP beat Trump’s margin in this district tonight. They also flipped a D seat to take 60 seats in the Iowa House.
Is 60 seats enough to write up whatever laws need to be written to ensure clean elections in the future?
So, is Iowa going to gerrymander all of the Congressional Districts?
This gives the Republicans 60 seats to 40 Dem ones. If they can vote together as a group, this will certainly make a difference.
That’s what the Iowa Senate Republicans are trying to prevent. They rejected the first map. They don’t get input into the maps, developed by a ‘nonpartisan’ commission. They haven’t seen the second set of maps, but they’re prepared to reject those, too, if they’re no good.
Finger-waggers are saying the Senators can’t influence the map drawing, the Senators are so far saying that they can keep this game up all day.
I’m with you I want to zot all these “let’s all just binge Netflix the republic is lost” FReepers! Get to work and make a difference people it is not going to fix itself
I’m so sick of those yahoos. The “we’re doomed so we’re just going to whine about everything” crowd.
They get their rocks off by gleefully announcing “Get ready for {insert some dystopian consequence here}” while offering no suggestion, sense of resistance or anything resembling a solution.
They’re all noise and drama and not productive in any way.
Are they through counting votes yet?
Agreed, the gloom and doomers should get one warning followed by a suspension and after that the boot if they continue.
No Republican has won this State House seat centered in Jasper County (IA) since 1972. The Dem that was put up in this special looks like he’s 90 years old. The Republican is much younger and narrowly lost the race last year by 3%. Rather spectacular victory given its historic bent.
“a ‘nonpartisan’ commission. “
In reality those are as real as 3 legged unicorns. I’ve never seen one that was not majority rats and GOP assistant rats.
So like, cancel them for speaking their mind? Great plan! 🙄
Right.
This area has been hurt over the years by the export of jobs to foreign countries. And illegal immigration is making for a declining quality of life.

When an individual poster has as a reason to post a goal of demoralization and instilling a sense of hopelessness in those who read his words then the person needs to be called out and taken to task.
This is not “cancelling” as you put it since no one will have their livelihood taken away and no one will shoe up at there door to harass them.
They should be warned first, suspended if it happens again and booted after that.
“Agreed, the gloom and doomers should get one warning followed by a suspension and after that the boot if they continue.”
Create you’re own forum then and do what you want. Doom and gloomers have as much right on this forum as you as long as they are civil. You don’t like it leave.
I don’t know if you noticed, but the environment is gloomy. The country is being destroyed and getting worse everyday. And this is because the Republicans are standing by and letting it happened. They are cowards and have as much fight as a jellyfish (non-toxic). Biden is president because of them.
I agree. Those people are just a drag and have nothing constructive to offer.
Like my parents used to say when we were little: “If you’re going to whine, go to your room. Nobody wants to be around that.”

And your answer is to spread the gloom and doom without a single constructive idea of how to turn it around?
Your attitude and other like you is that of a text book loser.
“Your attitude and other like you is that of a text book loser.”
Actually, you’re right. Other then a full on revolution I don’t really see a bright future. The solution isn’t to re-elect a worthless political class that is allowing the destruction of this country while they watch their bank accounts grow. Are you even aware (full extent) of what is going on now?
Provide me with 10 national republicans worth electing. Tell me how we affect change when our votes don’t count? If you don’t think massive cheating occurred you’re delusional. It’s been going on for decades with a wink and a nod from both parties.
