A family in Evansville, Indiana went to a local Walgreens to have each member, including two young children, receive a flu shot. During the appointment, all members of the party including the two children were “accidentally” given full adult does of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, according to the family’s lawyer. The children, four and five years old, were born in 2016 and 2017, as revealed by the vaccination cards provided to the family by Walgreens.
After the alleged vaccine mix up, both children are now experiencing signs of “heart issues,” according to their pediatrician. The younger child is sick with a cough and fever, according to the report by KWTX.
Myocarditis, a heart condition involving fluid accumulating near the heart, has been found to be a rare side effect of the Pfizer vaccine but seems to grow more common in younger male individuals. Adverse reactions to the vaccines seem to become far less likely the older the person who receives it becomes, according to current medical research.
“The family said they left the pharmacy thinking they had received their flu shots, but a Walgreens employee later called them and said they had made a mistake. The attorney said the cards were then issued since the coronavirus vaccine had been given.” (READ MORE: BREAKING: FDA Adds Warning About Myocarditis, Pericarditis Heart Inflammation To Moderna, Pfizer Vaccines)
The local news agency attempted to get comment from Walgreens regarding the matter, but has not received a response. This comes as the pharmaceutical giant Pfizer is seeking to gain FDA emergency use authorization to vaccinate children ages 5-11, according to multiple reports.
As National File reported, a recently-released CDC data set detailing provisional COVID deaths by age from January 1st, 2020 to September 15th, 2021 appear to show that less child deaths were linked to COVID in that time-frame than would have died from the flu in a typical year.
This article was amended to note both children are now reported to be suffering from heart issues.
Why are 4 and 5 year olds getting ANY flu shot?!
People have to double and triple check when taking medication or it’s being given. Have the nurses show you the vial and or the bottle and explain the ingredients....not because you want to know them as much as while they’re reading it THEY will know if or not it’s the right one before they’re finished reading.
I never had a flu shot until last year....why on earth people are giving the covid shot to kids I’ll never understand.
Because in most cases, the parents believe they are protecting themselves more so than the children. Idiots.
Idiots is right!
Probably because they are in daycare and unlike covid, influenza does actually kill young children.
“why on earth people are giving the covid shot to kids I’ll never understand.”
Why did Jim Jones’ followers drink the Kool-Aid in Guyana? Same phenomenon.
Well I got the flu twice back to back once and that was horrible sick I tell ya......so once Covid began spreading at the beginning I decided to get the flu shot and pneumonia shot. Didn’t have any problem with either.....and at least we know what’s in them and how developed with long term study.......this covid shot isn’t even close.
I have never heard of children getting any flu shots before this. It’s a new one on me.
I do remember my first bout with a strong flu.
It was about 1973. It had me in the bed. It was terrible.
Dad came in and gave me a shot of whiskey. It was late.
I sweated it out that night. Dad said never tell Mama.
I can relate. After getting so sick I did some research and read that seasonal flu shots protect against what they THINK the seasonal flu will be. Apparently they have no idea what strain will be predominant. I decided to pass.
I was prone to strep as a kid. Never got the flu until I was an adult.
Because parents now days are afraid of everything
Might be so but I haven’t had a cold or flu in two years since I started taking the shot....we’ll see how this year goes. But I’m also mindful it doesn’t keep you from getting the flu as much as you won’t have it nearly as bad if you do get it.
It’s relatively a new thing, the recommendation came out in 2002. But according to the CDC over 60% of children 6 mo to 17 got flu shots last year.
Lots of working parents do this because it spreads like crazy in daycare and they will lose a week of work staying home with them.
BTW I never told my Mom. :^)
