Mayorkas investigation into Border Patrol 'whipping' incident drags on

The investigation by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) into the September incident with Border Patrol agents on horseback has yet to conclude despite initial assurances from the Biden administration that it would take "days."

"The investigation is ongoing. The Department is committed to a thorough, independent, and objective process. We are also committed to transparency and will release the results of the investigation once it is complete," a spokesperson for DHS wrote in a Saturday email, according to The Washington Examiner.

Photographs went viral in September depicting horse patrol agents deterring Haitian migrants attempting to cross into the United States illegally across the river in Del Rio, Texas. Critics and some news outlets claimed the agents were using whips against the migrants, with some saying the images hearkened to the slavery era.

This incident certainly makes one question humanity. We are a bunch of grunting and snorting animals. It is rather amusing when you look at it that way.

Maybe I am getting old and crotchety but humanity has little to offer if we cannot at least be honest and it is a wonder that we have made it this far.

Too bad there aren’t people with decency and integrity. But even our religious leaders are not the best examples.

The Haitians were acting out a fantasy involving whips and chains. They did not have any whips or chains with them, but they got the border patrol folks to indulge them with the closest thing they had at hand, the reins of the horses. The Haitians enjoyed their fantasy.

Is Mayorkas going to punish the border patrol folks for indulging the Haitians? Or does he simply hate this expression of the Haitian's libido? Is he that hateful? This is sexual discrimination at its worst! Mayorkas must resign immediately!

It does not matter that nobody was hit with a whip. This is the Border Patrol, if an agent is accused of something then they will be found guilty of something. No Agent is ever not guilty of something. This why the investigation will take time, they already know that they are not guilty of using whips.

Now they have to find something that they are guilty of. More than likely they will find that they violated some obscure policy or the use of force policy and if needed there is always the conduct unbecoming charge.

I knew an agent who was wrongly accused of something, it was obvious that he had done nothing wrong. The investigation dragged on for close to a year even though it was obvious he had done nothing wrong. When the results of the investigation came back he was found innocent of the original accusation. However he was found guilty of buying a coffee while on duty. Apparently there is a policy against buying anything on duty. Bottom line is they will find a reason to punish these agents.
