Amid the possibility of a power blackout in the national capital, Delhi Power Minister Satyendar Jain on October 11 stated that there is coal shortage in most of the power plants and stock is left for only 2-3 days. “There is coal shortage in most of the power plants. The stock is left for only 2-3 days. NTPC capped production capacity of its plants to 55%. Earlier we used to get 4000 megawatts of electricity but now we are not getting even half of that,” said the Delhi Minister.

My first thought as well. In any case the green energy progressives have screwed up the entire world.
Germany and Britain have essentially stopped mining coal. The United States has severely limited coal production and has drastically reduced coal exports Without reliable, relatively cheap electricity, there is poverty, social and political unrest. Most of the world generates critical amounts of electricity with coal. This crisis is due to pompous, arrogant fools like John Kerry, Barack Obama and the Biden cabal. The coming crisis, which will include food shortages and real hunger, will dwarf the COVID pandemic in severity.

Their biggest failure point is strict Government regulation prevent them from raising rates to accommodate the raising prices of fuel. The result is India’s power suppliers are seriously in debt to their coal suppliers
So it turns out that India is the 2nd biggest coal producer in the world. China is first. India still imports about 30% of its coal for some uses.

India relies on imports as well as domestic production. Imports are lagging because first, China is sucking up regional supplies, paying premium prices, and second the leftwing politicians in Australia are impeding coal production, mine development,and exploration. Australia is a major coal exporter to the Asian world, India’s requirements are surging as India embarks on a large scale national electrification project. So there are pressures from both the supply and demand side.
Every day I read about another fertilizer plant shut down because of this engineered energy shortage. Fertilizer will soon be unavailable or prohibitively expensive in the 3rd world that relies on Fertilizer and Insecticide imports for 50% of it’s agriculture.
Coming this spring - hunger.

The only thing that limited coal production in the US was the price per ton of coal was too low due to low demand-much of that caused by oderate summers and winters. Now it is nearing record highs.
I live in coal country and the mines are working 24/7 and they are begging retired miners to come back to work with thousands of dollars in sign on bonuses.
