I drive about 30 miles every Saturday night to roller skate. I-37 to Corpus Christi always has heavy truck traffic, and the rest area has several trucks stopped for the night. There are two truck stops at exit 36 in Mathis.
The last 2 Saturday nights the rest area has been empty. No trucks getting gas (just the local farmers filling their F-250s). Only a couple of trucks on the highway. I live 2 1/2 miles from I-37 and I can hear the trucks from my house. Very quiet. Last night the only trucks I saw were a belly-dump and a tanker carrying salt water. Last week it was the same. Very noticeable.
