The United States reached a grim milestone this week, surpassing 700,000 total deaths from COVID-19. This week also, the total of vaccine doses administered in the USA surpassed 400 million.
Reported Cases: The current 7-day moving average of daily new cases (95,448) decreased 11.6% compared with the previous 7-day moving average (107,953).
New Hospital Admissions: The current 7-day daily average for September 29–October 5, 2021, was 7,440. This is a 13.2% decrease from the prior 7-day average (8,378).
Deaths: The current 7-day moving average of new deaths (1,431) has decreased 8.4% compared with the previous 7-day moving average (1,563).
Vaccination: As of October 7, 2021, the 7-day average number of administered vaccine doses reported (by date of CDC report) to CDC per day was 948,921, a 30.5% increase from the previous week. Nearly 95% of Seniors have received at least one dose, almost 84% are fully vaccinated, and over 10% of Seniors have now received boosters.
Variants: The national proportion of cases attributed to the Delta variant is estimated to be greater than 99%. Nowcast estimates indicate that Delta will continue to be the predominant variant circulating in all 10 U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) regions.
Test Positivity: The percentage of COVID-19 NAATs (nucleic acid amplification tests) that are positive (percent positivity) (6.1%) has decreased from the previous week (6.6%).

“ It was a switch from a highly locked down, to a “let it rip”
Lockdowns are just a temporary hold on the advancement of Covid through the population.
Nor will Covid slow until it exposes everyone.
Nothing can stop it. Not vaccines, not lockdowns.
Vaccines will force the aggressive mutation into variants that circumvent the synthetic spike. The future life is the vaxxed is a subscription service to boosters against these variants - instead of a sharpened natural immune system.
I may be wrong, but that is my considered opinion.
Eventually the vaxxed will all get a form of Covid.
Hopefully one that won’t be more deadly.
Your opinion on Singapore is interesting, but we see a similar template in other countries, so I think the jury is still out…
Black children have lost their caregivers at a rate of one in every 412. White children have lost their caregivers at a rate one in every 753. Sad comment on minority resistance to the vaccine, mostly, I would guess.
The deaths depicted on your (misleading) Israel chart resulted from the corresponding rise in Delta cases over a month prior. That surge in cases, and the prevalence of “breakthrough” infections among the vaccinated is what prompted them to begin giving boosters to the vulnerable.
The chart also cherry-picks a cutoff date, just exactly before deaths plateaued for two weeks and then began its ongoing decline - as booster rollout gained speed.
As published in the Peer reviewed New England Journal of Medicine on 7 October 2021, this is the real effect of boosters in Israel:
“ At least 12 days after the booster dose, the rate of confirmed infection was lower in the booster group than in the nonbooster group by a factor of 11.3 (95% confidence interval [CI], 10.4 to 12.3); the rate of severe illness was lower by a factor of 19.5 (95% CI, 12.9 to 29.5).”
Beau, you may be right - or not.
I will be curious to see if you come up with other justifications, if this pattern continues in Israel and Singapore and additional countries.
Eventually, we will have an answer that is self-evident for us all.
In the meanwhile, I wish you health and blessing.
Anecdotal - in my part of the country there are many cases of Covid among the young (acquaintances) who are not vaccinated. They exhibited various symptoms and all have recovered without serious complications.
The difference between the outbreak now vs last year is the number of young contracting covid and the exhibiting of symptoms. Last year I only knew of one young person who tested positive for covid and they were asymptomatic. This year (recent) it has been a few dozen and all exhibited symptoms and have recovered.
Among my adult acquaintances I only know of one vaccinated person who contracted covid and it was a mild case. All the others were unvaccinated with one dying (66 years) and several requiring hospitalization (all ages over 18).
Could Delta become more virulent as it moves through the unvaccinated population (young and old) or does a virus weaken as it moves from host to host?
Those numbers are sad for both black and white children. I remember Jerome Adams last year during one of the covid pressers imploring the black community to take the virus seriously and be proactive - that it could be devastating down the road.
“ we see a similar template in other countries” (as Singapore)
What template is that? Almost no cases while vaccination rates gradually climb past 80%, and then a one month surge?
If vaccination were causing increased cases, as you seem to want to imply, then why didn’t they, as people were being vaccinated? Clearly, there was no increase, as people in Singapore were increasingly vaccinated, over many months.
Unrelated.
The one month surge did follow just a week or two after the “Living with COVID” policy of removing restrictions and instituting widespread testing.
So is your point that vaccination is causing increases in COVID cases, or deaths?
1. Increases susceptibility to variants
2. Increased deaths going forward due to an immune system that is compromised by the vaxx - unable to defend against cancers, etc.
Did you even notice that many of the things you listed, are simply absurd to attribute to a vaccine? And yet you present this list as if it is something authoritative, or even credible? Clearly, it is A hodgepodge of raw reports, that obviously contains a lot of garbage, and purely coincidental occurrences - out of literally billions of doses of vaccine, that have already been administered worldwide.
Congenital disorders?
Administration site conditions?
Infestations?
Investigations?
Nutrition disorders?
Pregnancy?
Social circumstances?
Vaccination trains our immune system to recognize COVID.
It’s utterly ridiculous to claim that it weakens the immune system.

And they used sinovac which is notoriously ineffective
Well, COVID “could”, I suppose, ramp up to measles’ level infectiousness...? (Sources seem to vary a bit, but I’ve seen R0 of 16-18 for measles from several sources.)
In my county, 46% of COVID cases are people under 30. All COVID (Delta wave) fatalities under age 40 have been unvaccinated persons.
In my own case, I’m now 12 days past my 27 hour bus trip, and apparently in the clear. Masking (with N95’s), a good daily multivitamin and extra Vitamin D (routine for me for several years now except for slightly higher Vit D), and the Moderna vacc in March, either did the trick (no infection) for this 65+ average health guy, or, if infected my symptoms are so mild as to be undetectable (and in recent years colds usually really whacked me.)
the more gradual curve of vaccine administration, which simple-minded people might like to assume as a cause
“simple-minded”
“Slightly higher Vit D before the trip” I meant to say.
All the immediate friends and family we know with a current case of COVID (as mentioned by me last week) are doing from a little to quite a bit better. Wifey’s good friend’s hubby is recovering the most slowly - very slow - how much of that is him being unvaccinated and how much is him being bullheaded about care in general is uncertain. (Rolling eyes emoticon needed.)
“ 1. Increases susceptibility to variants
2. Increased deaths going forward due to an immune system that is compromised by the vaxx - unable to defend against cancers, etc.”
I don’t think that those are true.
But I must say that I love that you make clear statements like that. That way, the hypotheses can be discussed and tested, objectively. It shows an admirable character, that I respect, even if I disagree with the particular proposals.
I agree with your earlier statement, to the effect that nothing is going to stop COVID (at this point, it is far, far beyond any hope of containment).
So it makes sense to prepare people to weather the disease as best as possible for when it does strike. I have seen a lot of solid studies, in top peer reviewed journals, that show again and again, that our vaccines provide strong protection to people, when they are exposed to COVID.
That is how I now view the vaccines - as strong protection from the worst outcomes, while Delta works it’s way through everybody. Studies have already shown better resistance to COVID - better immunity - among those who have had both the actual disease and vaccination. They are like booster shots for each other.
I have heard these theories that the vaccines might cause more, or worse disease, but I have never seen any evidence of that actually occurring, in any of the famous peer reviewed journals, like Nature, The Lancet, or the New England Journal of Medicine.
What I have seen, that I find credible, indicates that being vaccinated helps a lot when people do get infected. There are other things that I find as credible assistance as well, like being trim, having good levels of vitamin D and zinc, but the vaccine effect appears to be significantly stronger.

a little early to have published results, check statistics that are up to date..
kinda like looking for book articles when they just hit newspapers and magazines...each at its own time
“A little early to have published results” (that the vaccines might cause more, or worse disease)
The New England Journal of Medicine has already published results for the Israeli booster program, that began 30 July 2021.
Those journals have been packed with articles studying the vaccines’ effectiveness and safety, since before they received emergency use authorization.
