Leave it to the cooky old commie to spend decades in office without an understanding of checks and balances.
Especially when an insanely bloated and corrupt $3.5 TRILLION bill is on the table with the goal of creating one-party power in America forever.
In fact, the Founders' entire point in creating the Senate was to 1) provide equal representation for states regardless of size and population and 2) temper the mob-like passions of the House by offering a check to any radical legislation that was being pushed forward.

It’s not 2, it’s 52. And that was the whole purpose of three branches of government. To have checks and balances and not just rubber stamp what the President wants. Even if the President is a stumbling elderly old man.
Honestly, a 50/50 split seems like a good reason not to go hard left or hard right. Except that we only go hard left these days.
silly me, i thought it only took one...
Methinks the old Commie muppet is going senile.
“Nor does he apparently how The Senate works ... after thirty years there.”
He knows. He just wants to break the rules because he’s not winning, like all leftists do when they are losing.
Sure they do.
To Bernie the Evil CommieRat:
535 do not have the right to take America down the road of communism against wishes of its citizens
I remember him saying that during Trump...oh wait
Sorry Bernie. They have the right to vote their conscience.
Hope I used the word correctly.
I’m still of the opinion that any senator elected and sitting as a Independent, does not get to caucus with any party-they stand on their own. It should be D 48, R 50, I 2.
Can you imagine the smell??? UGH!
So by his logic, if hes surrounded by 3 people and they vote to beat and rob him its ok because 1 person does not have the right to stop a majority.
Unfortunately, the majority of citizens are as stupid and ill-informed as those they elect. The idiots in Congress are a direct reflection of the idiots who vote for them. Sad but true.
Thanks, Vermont.
So Bernie doesn’t believe individual Senators have the right to exercise their Constitutional authority and duty?
Well then, change the rules so 48 out of 100 is a pass.
Heck, they don;t even have the right to be senators, but they are in office and they have the POWER of their vote. “Rights” have no play here, only POWER has play.
I agree it is not fair. Bernie needs to move to Venezuela where politics are more to his liking.
Sanders is saying that it's not about representing the interest of your state, it's about representing the interests of your party.
I can't imagine that a pre-17th amendment Senator would throw his state under the bus for his party.

Why bother even responding to such a ridiculous statement?
