Former White House strategist Stephen Bannon doesn’t plan to comply with a subpoena from the committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, according to CNN, following reports President Donald Trump advised him and three other former aides to buck lawmakers’ orders.

Thursday at midnight was the deadline for Bannon and former chief of staff Mark Meadows to comply with subpoenas sent on Sept. 23.

Subpoenas were also sent to Dan Scavino, Trump’s deputy chief of staff for communications, and Kashyap Patel, the chief of staff to then-acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller and a former House and White House staffer.

They are not just ignoring the fake subpoenas. President Trump is claiming executive privilege. They will have to go to court to attempt to enforce the subpoenas.

I have never been in DC in my life, or anywhere near it. I have never attended a Trump rally. I wonder if the Dems subpoenaed me, if I'd have to show up? I'm not vaxxed, so I probably couldn't fly. Would I have to drive 3,000 miles and deal with a myriad of conflicting Covid regulations from city to city? And the trip - even by car - would probably cost me two or three thousand dollars. What if I didn't have the money?

Can they just bully you into testifying without any evidence you did anything wrong? Can they forcibly enlist you - at significant personal cost - in their fishing expedition? Can they use this "commission" just as a means of harassing political enemies? It sure seems like it.
