Taiwan does not seek military confrontation but will do whatever it takes to defend its freedom, President Tsai Ing-wen said on Friday, amid a rise in tensions with China that has sparked alarm around the world.

Taiwan, claimed by China as its own territory, reported close to 150 Chinese air force aircraft flew into its air defense zone over a four-day period beginning October 1, though those missions have since ended.

Taiwan has complained for more than a year of such activities, which it views as "grey zone warfare," designed to wear out Taiwan's armed forces and test their ability to respond.

"Taiwan does not seek military confrontation," Tsai told a security forum in Taipei. "It hopes for a peaceful, stable, predictable and mutually beneficial coexistence with its neighbors. But Taiwan will also do whatever it takes to defend its freedom and democratic way of life."

Distribute the army’s T91 assault rifles, and 100 rounds of ammo, to every man and woman who has served in the ROC Army.

Tell them to be prepared to shoot any CCP soldier they see.

I am now in all cash as i think Taiwan is now toast. I wonder if they are accepting volunteers for their soon to be attacked domestic defense forces. Chips ahoy.

This idiot is echoing Biden who keeps saying what we “do not seek” instead of what we will stand up for. We do not seek a new Cold War. We do not seek greater tensions. blah blah blah. Hey slow Joe, what the he!! DO we seek? Might be a good idea to let China know what we will fight for.

Really?  Taiwanese aren't like your chicken friend Che Guevara who went in to hiding he though he could run but he couldn't hide, Bolivians made sure they got ‘em!

Nationalist Chinese have 98.5% literacy rate, as of 2021 they're 21st of the world's mightiest standing military.  They're not expecting immediate help from America from from your dementia buddy in the white house who didn't really won the 2020 election.  The Japanese ultra modern maritime force actually lurking currently around under the China sea in the event of communist China's military adventurism.  If Chicom would try conquer their land the nationalist Chinese will not give up the fight but it'd be David versus Goliath, they'll fight to death.  Chicom don't have experience attacking another sovereign county.  Japan have a lot of that with that and they're ready to help Taiwan.

Japan has the 5th strongest military force in the world. 1. US, 2. Russia, 3. China, 4. India, 5. Japan.

I heard from defense analyst, Japan is the #1 standing military force in Asia by quality not quantity. That’s why chicom fear them if they re-arm. They do have their hybrid 6th generation fighter jets and some unstoppable anti-ship missiles chicom are afraid of.

Communist China never attacked nor invaded another soveireign country before but they’d had several bloody revolutions among themselves the last 1949 when Mao Tse-tung overthrew Chang Kai-Shek that killed 65 millions. With Taiwan armed to the teeth like Israel, I’d think communists probably just playing psywar but not ready for all out war against nationalist Chinese because Japan and India may join in the fight for Taiwan in to mainland China’s catastrophic break up.

Tibet, East Turkestan, and India would disagree.

And as i said i would fight with them. but we shall see. China invaded Korea in 52. If they do decide to do it and fail that would be awesome for Taiwan and free people every where.

The USA run by the Democrats is more ideologically aligned with mainland PRC than with the ROC.

Why would a single party dictatorial state (USA) defend a democratic republic state (ROC) from an invasion by another single party dictatorial state (PRC)?

So what’s the food supply like in Taiwan. The CCP could simply decide to blockade Taiwan until they surrender.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_War

on 19 October 1950, Chinese forces of the People’s Volunteer Army (PVA) crossed the Yalu and entered the war.[52] The UN retreated from North Korea after the First Phase Offensive and the Second Phase Offensive. Chinese forces were in South Korea by late December.

In these and subsequent battles, Seoul was captured four times, and communist forces were pushed back to positions around the 38th parallel, close to where the war had started. After this, the front stabilized, and the last two years were a war of attrition.
