If you want to get a sense of what it’s like piloting a sub, just get in your car, put a light-tight mask on over your eyes, roll the windows down so you can hear what’s going on around you and drive at 10-20 mph to the store.

The main difference is that if you bump into something in your car, you can stop and get out. Oh, yeah, and military subs don’t have windows.
