A Colorado Democrat who planned to challenge Republican U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert in 2022 has halted her campaign fundraising, citing proposed changes to the state’s congressional map that would place the Democrat’s properties outside the 3rd Congressional District that Boebert represents, according to reports.
Kerry Donovan lives in Vail and owns a ranch in neighboring Wolcott, neither of which would be located in the revised 3rd district as proposed in the state’s revised congressional map, which still requires approval from the state Supreme Court, FOX 31 of Denver reported.
The map was redrawn and approved by the state’s Redistricting Commission following the release of 2020 U.S. Census data...

Shouldn’t matter. US Constitution doesn’t require you live in the congressional district you represent or are running for - it only requires you live in the State the district is located in.
Bkmk
shhhh
thanks, Kiryandil :)
The Lord works in mysterious ways...
I like the Western Slope of Colorado. There are actually some sane people living there. Most just want to be left alone to live their lives, like here in TX.
Unfortunately the Denver mess tries hard to prevent that from being possible.
Looks as if the 7th CD is growing, but could someone tell me if the redistricted are more Republican?
District 7 stays Democrat almost certainly. This Democrat-drawn map takes their party from a 4-3 advantage to 5-3. Claiming the new 8th district was easy for them since Fort Collins has lurched hard-left in recent years, but getting a 5-3 win AND getting rid of a Republican they thoroughly despise (Bobert) might be biting off more than they can chew; a 6-2 Rat win in Colorado probably isn’t feasible right now but 5-3 should be an easy slam dunk.
There was an intermediate map in early September where they were going to try to redistrict Boebert out of her own district and into a Dem stronghold.
Looks like they changed their minds.
It’s still possible that any district with Pueblo, the Democrat-infested ski resort areas (which is all of them — it’s not just Aspen anymore) and the Rio Grande river counties will be marginal, such as the current 3rd district is and the new 3rd likely will be as well.
It’s certainly not a completely safe district for a Republican, but there are a lot of good (if not enormously populous) Western Slope areas to make up for it.
It's no wonder that the Democrat ho Jena Griswold doesn't want anyone poking around her steaming pile of fraud.
If so, was there mail-in balloting in 2016?
I presume there were ballot drop boxes in 2020, but I was wondering if that was true in 2016 when sKankles ran.
I know Soros Foundation gurl Griswold slid into office in the 2018 election.
Fortuitous placement for the Dems, there.
I’m not in Colorado, but there definitely was mail-in voting in that state in 2016 and about 90% of all ballots flowed through the U.S. Postal Service.
I don’t know if mail-in voting had been implemented in Colorado 2014 or if 2016 was the first year for it, but large-scale mail-in voting was not in place in 2012 or prior to that.
That'll give me a place to start looking! :)
