Chauvin plans to appeal, but there’s one problem — his union won’t cover the costs: ---SNP--- Those points would make for a lively appeal — if Chauvin had a lawyer. Nelson either can’t or won’t represent him on appeal, and the court won’t provide Chauvin a public defender:

I have become something of an expert on USA death certificates because of the unusually high COVID fatality numbers.
The George Floyd death certificate that was introduced at the trial has three conspicuous errors. Each error violates a specific CDC policy.
The most glaring error is that the "Underlying Cause of Death" (UCOD) was left blank.
Without a UCOD, the "Manner of Death" - e.g., suicide, accident, natural, homicide - cannot be determined.
The Manner of Death on George Floyd's death certificate should be "Unknown," which, at the very least, would get Chauvin a new trial.
However, Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick of the City of Detroit was indicted for embezzling millions of dollars of taxpayer money, and supporting his mistress and conspiring with his father to steal more millions.
When caught, and the investigators couldn’t locate the hidden stolen money (maybe try numbered secret Swiss accounts or other places) Kilpatrick had the nerve to declare himself indigent. As a man with no money for a lawyer the court made the taxpayers fund his legal defense.
Many people in Detroit consider him to be a wronged victim due to white racism.
