Why wasn't this fixed when Trump was president. The law authorizing the treasury to make silver, gold and platinum coins didn't have limits on the value and number of platinum coins, so the Obama administration threatened to use that loophole. Knowing the loophole was there, it should have been fixed in 2017 when the Republicans had power

Was just thinking the same thing. If the R’s ever get power again, they should close this loophole.
