State health officials have seized a total of RM8,240 in unregistered Ivermectin products in seven raids on clinics, pharmacies and online sellers.
State executive councillor for health, Rahmad Mariman, said the sale of products not registered with the health ministry was in violation of drug control regulations.
He urged members of the public to report any sale of Ivermectin on e-commerce sites or social media. “They should inform the Pharmacy Enforcement Division so that appropriate action can be taken to curb the sale of unregistered Ivermectin products,” he said.
Rahmad said no Ivermectin product had been approved for registration for human use or for the treatment and prevention of Covid-19.
“Therefore continuous monitoring will be carried out on the advertising and sale of unregistered products such as Ivermectin,” he said in a statement today.
He said the effectiveness of the use of Ivermectin in the treatment and prevention of Covid-19 has not been proven clinically and the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency has said that Ivermectin is registered only as an anti-parasite drug and only for use on animals.
“Consumers need to ensure that health products sold have a hologram security sticker and Product Registration Number (MAL) before purchasing them,” he said.

I’m guessing that Rahmad Mariman just deposited a nice check or cash from Moderna, Pfizer and/or Astra Zeneca.
