Right. It’s happened before, and will happen again. Servers, networks, software, etc. fail and have to be reset / put back online.
Just nonsense as is typical of the author of this article. Notice he lists off Facebook’s other websites as though they aren’t part of Facebook as also being down as evidence of something bigger. It is unfortunate so many people continue to read and buy into what he writes.

Sheera Frenkel is. Apparently she is a "prize-winning technology reporter based in San Francisco." And she is reporting on
twitter about employees being locked out of buildings.
I haven't the slightest idea about her past reporting.
She may be a quack too for all I know. But she's an additional voice to that of Rucker.
I'm not being so quick to write this off as a simple routine outage requiring a few reboots or dns updates.
