I’m still trying to understand how Trump, who seems to have been a good judge of character, managed to surround himself with people like this.

Or, is it that most people are just plain rotten now and you have to take what you can get? IDK.

Camille Paglia of all people nailed it.

Trump’s business employees continued at the business. He had no trusted entourage vetted through years and even decades of climbing the political ladder.

That meant he had to rely on recommendations. Those weren’t suitable in most cases.

I think he was listening to people who claimed to be conservative “advisers” who actually pitched deep state names.

He’s admitted that he sometimes hires people who “say nice things” about him in public and online.

When that’s a standard for being a hiring, you’re bound to get a lot of losers.
