I suggest you go educate yourself because deterrence is the principal reason for having a force in being - to persuade others to resort to diplomacy rather than military action.

Gabbard is seeing that the Biden regime is quickly crumbling and that the Squad and their ilk are pushing the Democrat party off the cliff. She also knows that should Kamala become POTUS the Democrats might become extinct. While I do not trust her, she is setting herself up to be a voice of sanity in the party and a new party leader when the rest of the party leadership is gone.
