I get your point, but I think you are still painting with a broad brush. My brother was a teenager who was asked to babysit for friends of my parents, so they weren’t relatives. Having 5 younger siblings, he was well equipped for the task. So he did babysit for them. He grew into being a wonderful man with four of his own children.
I also had need of babysitting services when my own children were young, and asked a friend of mine if their eldest son would babysit. He agreed and was a fine babysitter. He also grew into being a stand up father with three children of his own.
So in my own little life, I have two examples of teenage boys who babysat, who are great men. Multiply that by others who have had the same experience.
Does it mean every teenage boy who babysits is a great guy? No. Do some of them have awful proclivities? Yes.
The point is that you started off suggesting that nearly all men and teenage boys should never be around children, then after you’ve been called out by a couple people, have narrowed down your rant.
We all know and understand the kind you mean, and you understand, too, the kind of males some others of us mean. You think I don’t have my eyes wide open to pedophiles because I think *SOME* men are actual good guys, but you would be wrong to think I am being naive. I’m not.
This is kind of like hearing that all women are going to take their ex to the dry cleaners during divorce whether or not the husband did anything wrong. That’s also painting broadly, and there are a lot of bitter people out there, who because of their experiences think every female is a bitch.
It’s just wrong.
I understand you are trying to warn people. Nothing wrong with that. Just don’t go lumping all men in the same category as these abusers who we know you’re referring to.

We are kind of on the same page. You are talking about scenarios where males were recruited to babysit; they were not going around actively trying to babysit small children. I’m talking about boys/men who, not having any connection to a school or family, try to get into situations where they are close to small children. Yes, this is a broad brush, and it my be unfair to a few. But I’ve seen so many cases of child abuse via political correctness that it makes my stomach turn.
