I lost my dad in 1975. He had the flu but did not die from the flu, instead he bled to death. He had called the nurses station when he had to either needed the pot or the bottle, but they did not come because they had left the hospital. So he tore the IV out of his arm and went to the bathroom. He was found in the morning blead to death, and he was only 62 years old. He wanted to visit us in Kansas with my mother after he retired later that year.

My husband never hit or beat me, but what he did was just as bad as if he had beat me. Before he went to Vietnam in 1967 he told me he would go to Australia for his R&R and I told him okay.

So he was 6 month in Nam when it was time for his R&R. We had 2 boys at the time, the older one was in first grade and the other one was 4 years old. So he wrote me that he wanted me to come to Hawaii. I told him that I could not come because I did not have the money. I had bought Christmas presents for the boys. He got mad and went instead to Kuala Lumpor and spend his time with some whores. I had no one to watch the boys while I was gone because his parents were elderly and lived in Florida. Anyway he send me a film to have it developed. Some of the film has some plants plants he had grown and about the other pictures the store clerk told me you don't want to see them. I honestly wished I had the courage to divorce him, but I did not. I had once the chance to do so. He had been gone six month and I had just made my drivers license. My younger son had fallen down the basement steps and naturally I was worried. So I asked my neighbor to drive me to the emergency room at Fort Campbell, KY which he did. They checked my son out and he was fine. After that he drove trough the post. He stopped and kissed me. To be honest the kiss felled really great. It had been 6 month since my husband had kissed me. Than he tried to put his hand on my breast, but I pushed his hands away instead and did not let him. So he drove me home. His wife called me and and told me she would file for divorce and name me. But instead of telling her "Dorothy nothing happened" I was just quiet.

Oddly, women make jokes about spousal abuse all the time.

“If my husband is out gambling, he’s going to get a frying pan upside the head”

A lot of things in modern USA are ridiculous and hypocritical. Letists yell and scream about abuse all over the country - whatever is traditional is automatically condemned as racist and abusive and demaning and - well, you know what I mean.

The biggest bullying by leftists in our country is that of abortion on demand. What can be more abusive and arrogant than deciding that a baby’s life is worthless and can be snuffed out for simply a convenience to the parents? They are just a bunch of bullies.

Are you accusing me of having been drunk when I reposted the op-ed?

I’d say as long as you did not know about the plane crash; you’d be forgiven.

If you weren’t, then I’d say the one who lost someone in the crash still needs some help dealing with their grief.

Yes, I forget his name. Back in the early 80s. Had no knowledge that a prop gun with blanks could still kill. Tragic, really.
