Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) released a statement late Friday night in which he fumed over House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) breaking her promise to vote on the “bipartisan” infrastructure bill this past week.
“It’s deeply regrettable that Speaker Pelosi breached her firm, public commitment to Members of Congress and the American people to hold a vote and to pass the once-in-a-century bipartisan infrastructure bill on or before September 27,” the New Jersey Democrat said in a statement.
He acknowledged a press release from Pelosi when she said, “I am committing to pass the bipartisan infrastructure bill by September 27. I do so with a commitment to rally House Democratic support for its passage.”
The congressman mentioned that he has been working “around-the-clock to pass the bipartisan infrastructure bill, legislation we helped craft back in April with my Senate colleagues” while blaming the “small far left faction” led by the chair of the far-left Congressional Progressive Caucus, Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) — consisting of 94 members — in which over half of the members have agreed to block the vote with her until there is a vote on the $3.5 trillion radical reconciliation package.
“We cannot let this small faction on the far left … destroy the President’s agenda and stop the creation of two million jobs a year — including for the millions of hard-working men and women of labor,” he added. “This far left faction is willing to put the President’s entire agenda, including this historic bipartisan infrastructure package, at risk. They’ve put civility and bipartisan governing at risk.”
The delay is due to Democrat infighting in which Pelosi is struggling to find consensus between the far-left and more temperate Democrats, the New York Times reported.

Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ)
Republicans should be putting some major pressure on the RINO’s to back out and undercut the “bipartisan” claim.
They could say the Bill changed too much.
Nice posturing and show. However Gottheimer is a Clinton loyalist Democrat who never voted for a decent thing in his life. In the end he will vote to saddle America with debilitating, nation killing debt. Don’t be fooled by this Marxist clown.
He’s a punk Marxist clown.
He fumed over House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) breaking her promise
LOL, that’s Nancy , she’s up to something or waiting for something
He’s unhappy his bank account is not blossoming into millions- like AOC and the rest of the DC criminals shoving money in Their pockets...
He’s also never legitimately won election to Congress, either. Massive voter fraud in Demonrat-run NJ.
What makes it BiXiden’s agenda?
>>>>Republicans should be putting some major pressure on the RINO’s to back out and undercut the “bipartisan”
claim.<<<
I could not agree more. At some point Dims will come up with something. If Republicans stop the “Bipartisan” bill that’s a big segment of the two bills gone, and may force less pork in what remains.
“...while blaming the “small far left faction” led by the chair of the far-left Congressional Progressive Caucus, Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA)
While Paypal’s caucus is certainly far left, they were FAR from being ‘small’. In fact, at 95 members, they are damn close to a majority of House Democrats.
You voted to have her your speaker. You do not speak out about the exteme of your part. Live with it.
“… creation of two million jobs a year”
Such absolute BS. Government never created a job by taxing and spending us to oblivion.
Presidents Trump and Reagan knew how to make the economy ROAR by getting the GD government out of the way and letting free market capitalists make their own business decisions and investments.
There’s a reason every single totalitarian state is fiscally and morally bankrupt and does not innovate.
He won Scott Garrett’s seat when the democrats redistricted NJ and added a bunch of democrat towns to Garrett’s super conservative NW district. Garrett had a near perfect score from every Conservative group.
The problem with our political system, and I don’t see a way around it, is that politicians vote on what’s best for them. Not what’s best for their constituents and certainly not what’s best for the nation. The thing that has made America great, in spite of the political system, is, until recently, individual Americans could do what was best for THEM. That is less and less the case. If, say, you consider it best not to get a vaccination that should be “your body, your choice.” BTW, whatever happened to “it’s my body, it’s my choice?” This one thing, government mandates, is a microcosm of the problem facing us that has the greatest opportunity to tear America, and the American dream, down.
While Paypal’s caucus is certainly far left, they were FAR from being ‘small’.
I think autocorrect is trying to tell us something.
I'm going to start calling her congressman Paypal from now on.
It was outright stolen from Garrett in 2016, within the margin of Demonrat voter fraud.
Democrats are good at hiding the real reasons for what they do. They’re now using ‘infrastructure’ instead of what they really set out to do, and that is the ‘fundamental transformation’ of the country into a socialist state. The spending is not meant to help industries or roads or businesses or people. It’s spending as the democrats see fit for their agenda items, including their centers of indoctrination, i.e., schools (from pre-k to k-12 and colleges and universities.
People are being LIED to big time.
And that is just the beginning. Their 3.5 trillion spending bill will put the finishing touches on their agenda to destroy the U.S., and spending will be forever controlled through the federal and local and state governments, including people’s spending. People won’t be spending any money that the government doesn’t know about or doesn’t approve of.
The infrastructure isn’t a bill it’s an instruction manual for Marxism.
Pelosi meeting with the the Pope in the next week, probably to get absolution for failing Beelzebub...
“I’m going to start calling her congressman Paypal from now on.”
That’s the name that keeps coming into my head when I read about her...so yep, that’s the name I’m going to use too!
