Pride flags, created to promote unity, are now being called political and divisive in some schools across America. In just one recent example, an Oregon school board on Tuesday banned educators from displaying the flags.
“We don’t pay our teachers to push their political views on our students. That’s not their place,” a school board member in Newberg and the policy’s author, Brian Shannon, said at a recorded board meeting.
Several other instances have occurred of school officials and students around the country targeting LGBTQ symbols. A Missouri teacher resigned last month after he was told to remove a rainbow flag from his classroom and that he couldn’t discuss “sexual preference” at school. Students at a high school near Jacksonville, Florida, were accused several weeks ago of harassing classmates in a Gay Straight Alliance club and stomping on Pride flags. And in August, Pride symbols were targeted at a high school near Dallas, where rainbow stickers were ordered to be scraped off of classroom doors.
In most of the cases where school officials are targeting the symbols themselves, administrators have defended their actions by saying that the LGBTQ emblems are divisive and “political.” But LGBTQ students, parents and teachers affected by the bans contend that the new rules are causing harm to a vulnerable group of young people.
Advocates have long been warning educators of the disproportionate rates of bullying, harassment and mental health issues plaguing LGBTQ youth.
Beth Woolsy, who is bisexual and has two LGBTQ children who attend school in Newberg, said the harrowing numbers continue to weigh on her as she sends her kids back to school each day.
“When we understand that it’s truly life and death that we’re talking about as we send our kids to school, she said.

People have the right to protest. That is what these actions are. They don’t want to participate in the support of sin known as LGBTQ+.
Funny how when the left imposes its agenda it’s “unity” but when normal people push back it’s “culture war.”

In the 90’s uneducated people just accepted that a “gay gene” had been found because news outlets reported that.
They had already accepted the false premise that if something was natural then it was also good. Having a population that can’t think logically and you set the stage for what’s happening today.

You beat me to it. I read that opening statement, then looked up to see the source (NBC) and that pretty much tells it all.
Those six word are Leftism in a microcosm: “Do as we think and say, and there will be unity.”
No hyperbole or hysteria there, just the facts. Kids are being killed daily at school b/c of their beliefs.
Geez, whatever happened to going to school to learn how to read, write and compute?
Get your kids out. Do it now, don't look back, reject any/all school bonds - keep an eye on the school board members and VOTE.

It is very popular with young girls these days. Not unlike anorexia was popular some years ago. It is a fad.
The “pride” flag is their victory flag. They plant it to show they have won, like the Taliban flag over the US embassy.

They don't want to allow people to understand the meaning, power, and utilization of words and symbols that they are using to advance their cause. They very much want people to confuse or ignore the power of symbols such as the rainbow flag by characterizing them as "symbols of inclusion" rather than the weapons or raised flags of success as Freeper libh8er observed in the post at #14,
The conduct and actions of the Left in these matters much reminds me of Islam and their "House of War" (Dar al-Islam) and "House of Peace" (Dar al-harb) concepts. In the Islamic world, you are either in one house, or the other.
It is a very similar concept to the way the Left operates.
In our non-Islamic world, we might say the Left divides the world in the "House of War" and "The House of Peace" as well.
In their Leftist world (as it is in the Islamic world) if you swallow everything they say, live under their rule, let them make the laws, or simply shut up and go along (paying your equivalent to the jizya tax which is paid by dhimmis defined as "protected" non-muslims) then, you live in their "House of Peace" and everyone, everywhere is happy or subjugated. (This is their Utopia)
However, in that same Leftist world, if you refuse to submit, refuse to pay their jizya, then you are in their "House of War". And until you submit and enter their "House of Peace", war will be waged against you. Funny thing is, most people they are forcing to submit don't realize war is being waged on them. Because, like Muslims, Leftists have their own version of Taqiyya, which is quite convenient for them.

And one of the key tenets of that is to deceive people and do not allow them to realize that war is being waged on them, because people who understand war is being waged on them will fight back. So they must hide this fact, and conceal it in characterizations such as "needing to find common ground", or as being for "the good of the children/women/people" etc.
Interesting how this is very similar to the way Communism is fought for and advanced as well. No coincidence there.)
So a woke teacher puts up a Pride flag and immediately gets criticized for not having one with a brown stripe.
Her kids have inherited her mental illness.
