Former U.S. President Donald Trump asked a federal judge in Florida to force Twitter to reinstate his account on Friday.
In July Trump sued Twitter, Facebook Inc and Alphabet Inc's Google, as well as their chief executives, alleging they unlawfully silence conservative viewpoints.
Trump's request for a preliminary injunction against Twitter was filed late on Friday in Miami, Bloomberg News reports.

Good move.
Now, also think of joining Gettr.
:)
I want to see him win with Section 230 getting tossed out in the process. Only when Republicans can have access to telephone service, mail service, and Internet service will Republicans be able to communicate with each other, much less communicate with the country.
Oh, you think, “but Republicans do have the above access”.
True, for now. But where do you think this is going, if we let the Leftists use the newer monopolies (like Twitter) to SILENCE their opposition?
LOOOOOONG overdue. Assuming this is the only thing he could have ever done about it anyway (which I don’t).
And?
Twitter and the other “social media” are working for the democrats. They agreed with obammy to promote democrat causes. Dems make sure “social media” is protected and well supplied with money.
And...”equal protection”. If it’s wrong for one Presidential candidate to claim theft it’s wrong for *all* candidates to do so.
Well-it’s no more outrageous than the social media forcing people OFF the platform
This is not a Constitutional question because Twitter is not a government entity. Twitter can ban whoever they want for whatever reason they want so long as they aren't violating anti-discrimination laws, i.e. banning because they're black or gay or Christian or any other protected class.
The Constitution protects us from the government, not from private business.
I had to look around for a while before I saw that it was filed in the southern district of Florida.
Here ‘tis.

Someting I forgot to mention...IMO their having banned Trump and not ILLary or Abrams could be considered an illegal campaign contribution.
Yeah good luck making that case.
With any luck, this will turn social media into common carriers to get rid of the argument that since they’re private companies, they can do as they wish.
Trump needs to start another social media company-—and people on Twitter/Facebook will flock to it immediately.

No Trump judges in Miami, even though he appointed five to the Southern District.
Not looking good on the ground.
Why the obsession with Twitter - isn’t Gettr supposed to be the newer bigger better replacement?
I agree, but at a minimum he will have to appeal to the 11th Circuit, which is far more favorable.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Court_of_Appeals_for_the_Eleventh_Circuit
And truthfully, this case is fodder for the SCOTUS. Even a single circuit court, while a good start, doesn’t have enough juice to take on the big social media corporations: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google/YouTube, Apple and Amazon.
If the SCOTUS finds in his favor against Twitter, the next time the Republicans are in charge, and possibly even with some Democrat support, the gates will be open to slap down those bad boys.
Good point.
I forgot about the immediate appeal, and the Eleventh is 6 or 7 to 4 or 5, depending on if Chief Pryor is a Dubya squish, or not.
Pretty good odds for a 3-judge panel.
