I know that may not be a comfortable/viable thing to do, but....
That Gulag Archipelago quote that makes the rounds comes to mind. If enough people quit and told them to stuff it, others would be spared.
It should scare everyone, where this is leading.
Forced conformity is such a b!+c#, But this is what happens when the “command-and-control” mindset keeps changing the goalposts.
And that is what we have in many parts of the world today, a reversion to the “command-and-control” regimes that were just about the normal state for most of mankind down through history. Just look at what has happened in Australia, a nation that most Americans consider to be a good reflection of a similar set of values. First they came for the rifles, shotguns and what pistols they could classify as “assault weapons”, in the wake of a serious massacre in Tasmania in 1996. Then, when the opportunity came for securing the nation against a “pandemic”, the people of Australia were forced into their homes as prisoners, not allowed go about on errands that were deemed to be “not essential”. Any unbiased observer would term that to be tyrannical, but now, that is the daily fact of life for every Australian.
And coming to a neighborhood near you, if it has not already.
She should quit, then walk next door and get a job at a fast food joint. she will make almost as much, have less stress, and will probably be manager in a week.
