The odds for President Biden’s $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill are getting worse with each passing hour.
At least 60 House progressives currently plan to vote against the infrastructure bill — more than enough to tank it — and Republicans are whipping against the legislation to help the far-left Democrats bring down the bill.
House Republicans overwhelmingly oppose the infrastructure package. Still, at least 10 GOP lawmakers have publicly stated they will support the bill and its promise of road and bridge projects, despite their leadership’s insistence that the bill is “inextricably linked” to Mr. Biden’s $3.5 trillion social welfare package.
“Well, obviously, you’ve seen some of our colleagues in the press saying that they support that bill. We whipped against it, among many reasons because Speaker [Nancy] Pelosi and President Biden have put them together as a package — meaning both they tax and spend — $4.3 trillion and the $1.2 infrastructure as $5.5 trillion package,” Rep. Steve Scalise told The Washington Times. “And so, we’ve whipped against, and we’re working to keep that number as low as we possibly can.”
With 60 defections on her left flank, Mrs. Pelosi would need nearly that many Republican votes to get the bill across the finish line.

GOOD
A small victory, but a victory nonetheless.
This morning fox played a clip of pelosi referencing the OBAMA “build back better plan”. She’s so addlebrained she didn’t even realize what she said.
I guess when you tell the truth so rarely you don’t recognize when you do it.
The 1.2 T is bad but not nearly as bad as the over 3.5t bill.
I don’t really like the idea that democrats get to submarine the 1.2t while the 3.5t is still out there.
Even odds that this is a head fake.
Let’s hope it’s not a Pyrrhic victory.
Yea.....unfortunately it’s the games they play when they’re up to no good....and our guys fall for it every time.
“Still, at least 10 GOP lawmakers have publicly stated they will support the bill and its promise of road and bridge projects”
The “Progressives” want to spend none of the money on “road and bridge projects”. That is one of the reasons that they want to sink it.
“Still, at least 10 GOP lawmakers have publicly stated they will support the bill and its promise of road and bridge projects, despite their leadership’s insistence that the bill is “inextricably linked” to Mr. Biden’s $3.5 trillion social welfare package. “
We need the names of this toilet scum.
.
This week, Lindsey Graham spoke out saying this has to be passed.
He also supported the Porkulus bills and the giant Coronavirus bill to blue Cities.
.
Anyone who votes for this is an enemy of the republic and should be handled as such.
Really don’t care how or why these spending monstrosities are stopped and do not become law. If they do somehow become law they will be the ruination of the American nation.
This feels like a trap ...
I agree, they will flip at the last minute. No way are they going to let “something” go in exchange for “nothing”. Never have, never will. They are just working it for all they can while they can.

The media ALWAYS has to try to blame Republicans. Clearly, the R’s aren’t needed at all in the House and this debacle is owned lock stock and barrel by the Communists.
It's always a trap.
Yes, you’re of course correct.
