I’m in college working on my Bachelor’s and eventually my Master’s degree in Social Work. My field is heavily female based and I agree that there are more women than men on the campus in general.
How many men are in trade school, the Armed Forces, or learning a trade through job training?
A degree is not needed for career success. I never had a degree while I was active duty, and didn’t need one to work offshore as an electronic/hydraulic/mechanical technician.
I’m early 50’s, widowed, former US sailor, and never went to college. I was CTT in the Navy, and fell into IT work afterward, and have made 100k+ for 5 or more years... I worked at a university for 12 years, and got minimal pay raises despite excellent reviews, so left and went private sector and added 20k easily.
Still, the only time I’ve been on a university campus is football games, and to work.
