They fight tooth and nail against what they know is completely obvious. "Official Washington" is antiquated. There's simply no need for our Congresspeople to troop off to D.C. like it's 1789 or something. They could simply stay in their home districts and vote electronically, conduct hearings via zoom. They'd all LOVE being close to the homefolks ... Wouldn't they?

Similarly, having all the departments clustered in Washington is ridiculous. How about headquartering Agriculture in Oklahoma, Energy in Texas, Commerce in New York? Enhance the economies of those places while making the agencies more accessible to the people who do business with them.

As Trump well realizes, Washington D.C. is the biggest, most evil monopoly in the history of the world. I'm sure our representatives will miss the lobbyists with fistfuls of cash, bartenders with free drinks, and prostitutes with ... Well you know. But the time is LONG past for this monolith to be dealt with.

It would mean a savings of billions, and most important, a saving of the Republic.

Great topic. Reimagine DC.

Whatever would the media do if it was unable to congregate in one cesspool?
