Nothing done merits prison. He's not in prison.
I agree with that. My son was in ROTC and decided that the wokeness wasn’t for him. The fighting core of the military has always been kids from more traditionally conservative families, and they’re now being made to feel unwelcome. We’re heading down a very dangerous road that ends in some bad places.
Navy Captain who sent unsecured email informing the world that his ship was not fit for duty.
Not exactly the same, but close enough to demonstrate he was treated quite differently from this Marine Lt. Col.
When I was being medically discharged with 1/4 of my lungs no longer functional after 3 years with 0% service connected disability as an enlisted man in the US Navy, I didn’t go outside my chain of command.
Now, my MOM and DAD did. As did my band directors, friends, coworkers (non-military) and the like. They all put together a package of letters and sent them to the US Senator (actually, Lloyd Bentsen at the time), and sure enough - that 0% got changed.
Need to do something now, since it’s been 30 years, and there are still effects (sleep apnea, for one) that have appeared in that time that should bump that up.
How can you look at l’affaire Vindman and think we have a “functioning” military? The Trump hating DOD was happy to have a light colonel as pawn to impeach a POTUS based on a political hit job hoax.
Contrast Vindman’s treatment with that of this patriot. Again, another example here that we do not have a functioning military.
I know the truth is ugly but we must face it if we wish to fix it. Rules and regs mean nothing if they are applied in a corrupt manner.
If you want to see the future of the US military just look at how Australian police are treating their citizens under covid lock up.
“You can’t do that instantly. He’s in the process of getting out, and just needed to shut his yapper until he was processed out. Once out, he would and could be as critical as he likes.”
So you support the totalitarianism.
I appreciate your comment. My comment was simply acknowledging the reality that intentionally disobeying a gag order does not help his case or his cause. It is quixotic at best and prideful and foolish at worst. He needs better counsel than he’s apparently getting.
Resign, then speak out. That has been the clearly understood rule when you get your commission since day one. The exception is unlawful orders which isn't the case here.
Nothing done merits prison.

So you like to defend despotism by playing word games.
Are you actually French, or just a pretentious twat?
Regardless, while you're sipping your Gabriel Meffre while reading Musso, there are actually American sailors deployed on "functioning" ships at sea right now. There are Marines and soldiers in harms way, and airmen deployed overseas. Their lives depend on a functioning command structure where every order isn't subject to endless debate and public disagreement. Lives depend on that. Maybe you and your ilk have just forgotten about those guys, and how their lives are dependent on good order and discipline no matter what kind of screwing around may be going on at the Pentagon.
The real warriors who are left need that basic requirement and expectation that orders will be followed, and at least as of now, they are functioning while keyboard commandos like you sleep safely at night because of them.
Damn do I despise people like you.
So you like to defend despotism by playing word games.
So you like to set up strawman arguments?
How is it a straw man to state you are supporting despotism?
In prison, in jail, whatever word you want it is unprecedented and in no way defendable or necessary.
Yet you approve it.
How is it a straw man to state you are supporting despotism?Because I don't and I never stated anything near that.
Here' a statement you can use to argue with, if you like: Words matter.
You support jailing this guy.
That’s despotism.
Words indeed matter.
Your weasel words cannot change the facts.

There are 12 dead Marines and one dead corpsman at their final duty station now because all those “real warriors” sat on their hands while DOD was used as a political weapon against President Trump. Apparently, nobody was willing to risk their pension or too p whipped to stand up and be counted.
This fine Marine is the first “real warrior” to stick his neck out for them. And you condemn him for that. I don’t despise you. I thank you for your service and pity you. You of all people should know better.
So the fools in the Pentagon are doubling down on MASSIVE FAILURE.
ALL generals promoted in the last 12 years need to be relieved of duty.
You support jailing this guy.
Have someone read the thread to you. You will find that I said no such thing.
Why do you want to argue with what I DIDN'T say?
There are 12 dead Marines and one dead corpsman...
11 Marines, 1 Soldier, 1 Sailor.
