Frederick Joseph is a marketing guru, an Elizabeth Warren campaign surrogate, and the author of a 2020 book, The Black Friend: On Being a Better White Person. He is black.
Over the weekend, he took his dog for a walk with his fiance in a New York City park, in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn. There the couple encountered a white woman, later identified as Emma Sarley. It's not clear exactly what happened, but a disagreement broke out—Joseph claims that Sarley wrongly thought the dog was barking too loudly—and Sarley flipped Joseph the bird before stomping off.
But according to Joseph, she also told him to "stay in your hood." He filmed part of the altercation and posted it on Twitter. Within 48 hours, social media sleuths had identified Sarley, notified her employer, and gotten her fired.
Joseph called on Bevy, a virtual conferencing company, to prove its commitment to race and equity by immediately doing something about its employee Sarley.
"I'm hoping Black colleagues and peers don't have to face this sort of racism from Emma," he tweeted.
Bevy CEO Derek Andersen swiftly complied.
"Yesterday an employee engaged in behavior contrary to our values and has been terminated," he said. "We apologize deeply to all involved."
There is already a New York Post article about the incident, and considerable furor on Twitter. Sarley's name will probably always be associated with the "Karen" racist white woman trope, as assuredly as Amy Cooper's is—even though the Central Park dog walker story turned out to be much more complicated than was initially believed. (See Kmele Foster's subsequent reporting on that.) Many in the media will say that Sarley is being held accountable for a racist act; others will call this a clear case of cancel culture run amok.

The main point is, is the dog okay? Probably more worthy of compassion than the three entities involved. And maybe smarter as well.
But not the part where he instigated and escalated it? Smells like a setup by someone desperate for a little attention.
I live in rural area outside of Houston, and while we do have all ethnicities, I have yet to find anyone “uppity” - white, black, Vietnamese, Cambodian, or any other group.
Must be the hard work, large yards, farming background and the “leave everyone the f* alone” mentality we get out here.

That’s been the story of at least the last 50-55 YEARS
This gentleman has a history of “being persecuted.”
What is a fabulist? If it was a known fabulist then isn’t there a probability that it was staged? At least as far as the people who were victimized by racism. The Karen was foolish to get into an argument at all let alone with black people. All race aside, you don’t have to confront everyone who gets your attention in a negative way. I usually mutter under my breath while smiling. I don’t get into confrontations and I have to think that people who do have something to do with it. Confronters gonna confront.
No worse than the black gal at ASU claiming a need fir segregation at the multi cultural center. Segregation is the new equality.

Apparently, It's not newsworthy.
Mostly the same in the entire state of Alaska. Natives aren’t too fond of the white man in their villages, but beyond that, we mostly don’t give a crap about that nonsense.
Right; that is why neighboring NJ is so segregated. My town and others around still have Columbus statues, while nearby Newark NJ has a statue of superpredator George Floyd in front of city hall...
Affirmative action was bound to create new segregation, where those with false diplomas and degrees could pretend they are “educated” without truly educated people shaming them.
