In my neighborhood, it’s single-family homes being turned into rooming houses with five cars and a beat-up RV on the front lawn.
My town has zoning that you can’t park in your yard unless it is on a driveway. No rules about having a garden in the front yard. One of the oddest things I’ve seen is the new owner of a house tore up his front lawn and replaced it with all wood chips. There was no other landscaping. I bet the neighbors love that.
