The narrative was that the United States had no business fighting the war in Vietnam, and the American soldiers fighting it were an instrument of U.S. imperialism.
Of course I did ... I “enjoyed” an element of “the narrative” .... and came to believe Robert McNamara was an idiot and got a lot of good men killed .... it sparked my belief that Viet Nam was an excellent way to get rid of the “angry young man”, those of us that were educated and intelligent and were becoming political en masse .....
