“ I will not be associated with the United States’ inhumane, counterproductive decision to deport thousands of Haitian refugees and illegal immigrants to Haiti, a country where American officials are confined to secure compounds because of the dangers posed by armed gangs in control of daily life,” Foote said.”

“ “You know, one of the ideas that Mr. Foote had was to send the U.S. military back to Haiti,” Sherman said. “I have followed Haiti since the Clinton administration, and I can tell you that sending the U.S. military into Haiti is not the answer that will solve the terrible situation that the Haitian people are currently facing. It just was a bad idea.”

It looks like he resigned in vain because most of the Haitians stayed in the US after all.

Haiti has no war-worth commodities. No Rubber. No opium. No oil. No mineral deposits.

Nope. No soup for Haiti.

I kind of agree with him that we should have returned the haitians to brazil and chili, from whence they came and where for years we’ve been paying foreign aid to said two nations because they took in Haitians after 2010.

But I don’t think any of what he said is ‘harmful’

The preposition "to" governs the dative case, so it should be "whom."

Have you ever noticed that for the Clinton crime syndicate they stay out of prosecutorial cross-hairs by grifting the worst hell holes that forensic accountants don't dare tread?

Benghazi, Haiti, Indonesia, Hillbilly banks in the Ozarks, Mena Columbia, etc....

Although I admire your loyalty to the language, the phrase “grammar Nazi” does come to mind. :)

No Rubber. No opium.

I think you could grow opium in many climates, but seriously would you want to trust opium from Haiti? And there is the problem that a cash crop that attracts the cartels would only increase the disorder in the country.
Haiti was once a sugar exporting colony, and could easily grow any of a number of valuable tropical crops e.g. coffee, rubber, pepper. The problem is tamping down the disorder and corruption so that it can be profitably and safely grown. I believe pepper takes over 3 years to produce a crop from planting.

blackdog explicitly requested guidance on this point.

Glad that you don't take me too seriously - I certainly don't!
