From another thread...

Using about 9 18 wheelers, blockade U.S. St Rt 239 (U.S. Rt 277 Bus.) and Alderete Ln, and Alderete & Frontera. The only trucks allowed in will be to remove the porta-potties.

All transport vehicles that carry more than 20 persons should only be allowed to leave 'deadheading' - meaning no passengers. Would-be passengers should be 'discouraged' from boarding such transports. Any transport carrying such 'contraband' should be made incapable for road-worthy transit.

Grocery stores, in a move of solidarity, should apply limits on the amount of items sold per person, and should ask for U.S. identification before entry. All gas stations should either close or turn off the diesel pumps.

Finally, the local Del Rio F.D. should refuse (or be convinced to refuse) any calls south of Alderete Ln until all illegal south are returned south of the Rio Grande; especially if any brush fires in that area may happen to pop up.

I figure that should resolve the issue in about 72 hours.

[Addendum since Abbott wants federal help]:

Do NOT ask Washington D.C. to help.

Give the Sheriff Joe Frank Martinez permission (as if he needs it) to deputize every male resident of Val Verde County to help stand watch and prevent encroachment of the barriers provided. These newly-minted deputies are encouraged to carry side arms and long rifles at the ready. TX National Guard shall assists in any logistics needed for these deputies and vice versa. Former military civilians shall be given rank and privilege during regimentation. All persons must past state-background check and take oath prior to deployment.

How's that, folks? Sound like a better option? Or do we need to apply more pressure? (e.g. request mobilization from other states)

just my $0.02

We would all love to personally remove some Haitian “refugees” from under that bridge-put them into the back of our 4x4’s and drive them to the bus station in Acuna and put them on one pointed south toward Belize/Guatemala, or to Vera Cruz on the coast-but unless you know some rich person who will pay the drivers of those 18 wheelers, etc, then it is just a movie scenario-and this is not Hollywood. Grocery stores usually do limit quantities when short on supply-but they are private companies so it is voluntary-gas stations are the same...

There are also limits to state law regarding what a governor can do-the governor is not as powerful as many think-so he can’t become a tyrant-I’m interested in watching the legal back-and-forth now that the gauntlet has been thrown down by gov Abbott-he has already entered into a private state contract with a construction company-with state funds-for the wall for Texas only-and he is a good lawyer by reputation-if Biden refuses aid for bridgegate-then the door is probably open for Texas LEOs to step it up on the illegals-and be legally within the boundaries of the Texas constitution...

Yelling and screaming with a keyboard online isn’t going to make anything happen-I’ve called and emailed my congressman, and so have my neighbors in this rural area-he is doing all he can, along with many others-so we stay informed and keep up the pressure...
