I didn’t say China would win. The risk is still there if the Chinese regime thinks it can win, or at least survive a war. I hope you would agree that war, win or lose, is a very bad thing for the US and everyone in the region.

Oh I agree.
My point was China has few good choice, perhaps they only have bad choices. One choice China suffers financially, the other choice is the entire world suffers in death and destruction.
Xi is sort of like Gen. Custer at Little Big Horn, he thinks he knows what is going on, but he doesn’t (because he does not take kindly to being told bad news).
how can I get one of these.
“Evergrande is only something like 1% of China’s economy”
It is just the tip of the iceberg. Fraud and bad debt are normal business practices there. The same assets of Evergrande (and many, if not most, other big Chinese companies) are typically carried on the books of more than one bank. Their financial system is a house of cards.
They are (by historical standards) far overdue for a debt/banking crisis. They are also situated at very high risk for a general real estate crash, stock market crash, and currency crash. It has been lie, cheat and steal like there is no tomorrow over there, for 20 years.
