Canada election: What you need to know about the campaign

Canadians are going to the polls on Monday to vote in an early general election. Can Prime Minister Justin Trudeau manage to win his sought-after majority?

For the second time in two years, Canadians are voting in a federal election.

Mr Trudeau launched the campaign mid-August, two years ahead of schedule as he seeks a third term in office.

My prediction: Princess Justine Castro will quite easily obtain the preciousssssss (i.e. the majority that is his by sheer, divine entitlement of being political royalty), and like nearly all other Canadian elections, this one will be *over*, once the votes from Toronto, Montréal and Ottawa are counted. Anyone living outside of those bastions of "correct" sociopolitical thought will be SOL. Even if the unthinkable happens, and Princess Justine is not delivered the votes that he is by G-d ENTITLED to, then he will make cow-eyes at Jagmeet Singh for a coalition. At the end of the day, just like his father before him, our Dreamy Prime Minister can continue to play dressup emperor fo just as long as it pleases him to.

And yes, obviously, I hope I am proven wrong on this, but the polling number don't look hopeful.

Sorry, Captain O'Toole, but I think that, as of tomorrow, you will simply be an historical footnote, just like every other so-called "Conservative" Party leader in this country since Stephen Harper.
