Rep. Kevin McCarthy, the Republican House leader, warned that the Democrats’ $4.7 trillion infrastructure and spending plans are an effort to redistribute wealth and represent more money than the US spent to win World War II.
McCarthy (R-Calif.) told John Catsimatidis on WABC 970 AM radio show that Democrats are “adding onto our debt as we’re going along,” adding that the legislation would “create greater inflation.”
“It’s redistribution of wealth, it will take money out of the economy, make America less competitive, especially for our competition around the world,” McCarthy said. “It’s a real concern.”
The bipartisan $1.2 trillion infrastructure plan passed the Senate earlier this month and the chamber is expected to take up President Biden’s $3.5 trillion spending plan this week.
The sweeping legislation includes funds for education, child care, housing and efforts to combat climate change as part of the president’s “Build Back Better” plan.

Whatever.
These are the people who enabled this.
They knew it was a Trojan horse and voted for it anyway.
Dan Sullivan (R-AK) Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) Mike Crapo (R-ID) Roy Blunt (R-MO) Richard Burr (R-NC) Deb Fischer (R-NE) Lindsey Graham (R-SC) Rob Portman (R-OH) Thom Tillis (R-NC) Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) Jim Risch (R-ID) Chuck Grassley (R-IA) Bill Cassidy (R-LA) Kevin Cramer (R-ND) Roger Wicker (R-MS) Mitch McConnell (R-KY) John Hoeven (R-ND) Susan Collins (R-ME) Mitt Romney (R-UT)
They knew when they were voting for the $1.2 trillion they were enabling the bigger, worse one.
Agreed, using WWII is like saying “civil war era” now.
It's really a meaningless claim. How many voters were even alive to know of WWII?
How many young voters would even care?
He needs to put it into terms that voters can relate to.
McCarthy and ALL of the Bush League Republicans need to be replaced.
They are nothing more than Kabuki actors.
They pretend to be on our side while really being Assistant Democrats.
If a rat lives inside a cookie jar that doesn’t make him a cookie.
Mitch McConnell got played. No excuse. He’s good on judges but little else. He should had seen the “Trojan Horse” a mile away.
McConnell did NOT get played, he is playing all of US.
He’s mean-mad. /s
More big talk from the weak willed, weak kneed, spineless sea slug.
This is what the GOPe want to talk about. To pretend to be conservative.
Conservatism is:
Build the Wall
Drain the Swamp
America First in ALL Things
Pro Life
Pro Guns
I see none of that from McCarthy. In fact, he IS the swamp.
This “money” obsession is intended to forcibly refuse to acknowledge that the Fed creates this money from thin air with no underlying basis beyond whimsy. It is a substance from nothing.
Why this faux outrage about a substance from nothing. WITHOUT this bill the US debt will be $30 Trillion this calendar year, slightly under this fiscal year.
If the debt ceiling is not raised, the Fed has already described how they will respond. They will buy the defaulted bonds, yes, with money they create electronically.
The GOPe wants people to think about a spending bill, as if it matters compared to the 5 tenets of Conservatism above.
Give the DemocRATS a break. they are just trying to finance the effort to win the “Take Over America and Establish the United Democratic Government States War”.
The Republican Party protects the Deep State’s Right Flank.
This is the Rino who is fund raising for like 5 of the 10 republicans who voted to impeach President Trump. Why is anyone giving this man the time of day.
Forgive me, but McConnel I do not believe got played. I think he knew and approved. My question is what is he supposed to “GET” out of it? Cynical? You bet. After Nov 3rd, I find it hard to believe anything out of the mouths of the Uni Party elite.
What the hell does “Build Back Better” mean?
It makes no sense at all.
“It’s redistribution of wealth”
I asked a financial guy about the 3.5 trillion budget. He said it’s because America has a widening gap between rich and poor and the objective is to reduce the gap. He also said that taxes will go up.
I wondered to him if transferring money from the haves to the have nots will make the economy more productive, because that’s an objective of government.
I wonder also how many of the have-nots are non-citizens.
