Somewhat related. I was going to buy a cutting board because the label said “made from Pacific Northwest Lumber”. Turns out the board was made in China. So it was cheaper for a company to ship lumber across the pacific, have it sliced and glued into a board, shipped back over the pacific and then sent to retailers comapred to having a factory in Washington or Oregon.
