Watching this, I thought all those white-clad Arabs were insane to stand in long lines on either side of the road while their brethren gyrated out of control and smashed into things.

Agreed. In watching this, none of those buildings created a compact rubble pile. Seemed like many of them just toppled on their sides.
The Chinese are not stupid by any means. And they aren’t lazy. But there does seem to be some kind of national injunction against doing a job right.
