Biden is somewhat boxed into a corner. He was talking about booster shots several weeks ago based on discussions months prior with Fauci, former FDA Commissioner Kessler, Surgeon General Murthy, acting FDA Commissioner Woodcock, etc.
It would be difficult for him to not follow the technical advice of the committee. But he has prominently mentioned and pushed for booster shots. Some of the shine is off Fauci as a result of this. We’ll see what happens in the next week or so.
Well, the committee did recommend boosters for those >= 65 years of age and also those at high risk of severe COVID.
Two years ago, Fauci laughed about anyone who wears a mask, saying they should avoid being paranoid.
