Oh yeah....The legions of Islam are at our gates now. /s Last I checked, the West has been invading the Middle East for the last several centuries...not visa-versa.

Really? Are you just trolling, an Islamic apologist, or are you just not reading the news for the past decade? There are several US cities and states that have lots of muslims and some have no go zones (see Minneapolis and the Somali imports), not to mention the numerous US Islamic military training camps ; Europe is on the verge of becoming under Islamic rule.

There are the several hundred thousand Afghan muslims just flown in (some are known Taliban) ; all those who have ever lived in Afghan are also eligible for US green cards ; we won’t even count the Islamic hoards that have poured over the southern border from all over the world - some of those are AQ.

How big does a hoard have to get, before you count it as a hoard?

Syria is a lie. We supplied and created ISIS before they started bringing unwanted attention on DC with their excesses. So we had to pimp slap them around some.

But we were actually there to overthrow Assad, the most secular and moderate ruler in the middle east. We repeatedly attacked the Syrian military, flew top cover for ISIS, threatened Russian aircraft that were pounding them, etc.
We switched sides in the war on terrorism in Libya and began supporting Al Qeida and sunni wahhabbist efforts to overthrow secular governments. We did this in Egypt, Libya, and Syria.

If the US keeps repeating THAT process, it won’t be Islam that is destroyed.

Can’t account for stupid elected leaders and their stupid policies and imposed, enemy-friendly ROEs.

In the entire middle east, Syria was the only place a woman could choose the career of her choice, drive a car to Latakia beach, drink locally made wine, dance to music, check into a hotel, etc. Under Assad you could be a Christian, any species of moslem, be Zoroastrian. Or you could even be a member of the last Jewish Synagogue in Damascus.

And then DC/USAID/CIA/and the Facebook team got involved.

And this adventure launched ISIS, and flooded the EU with millions of migrants. It’s shameful.

The Assad regime is a murderous dictatorship whose killing of Islamists was wholly accidental to its pursuit of murdering as many Syrians as were necessary for maintaining itself in power.

If it found supporting ISIS to be politically useful, it would do so in a minute.

As for the oil field we do what we do because it's useful militarily and denies support to the Assad regime which has allied itself with our enemies Iran and Russia.

I find the notion that if we acted "on principle" and gave up the oil field then the Chinese would be persuaded to behave better highly dubious.

How about some facts to back up that claim? Even if you want to blame the invasion of Iraq for this mess, it's still a mess that has to be taken care of. The cost of staying with a few hundred spec ops troops is minimal, and any war is a "forever war" as long as the other side decides to keep fighting.

How about SOME FACTS? Holy crap - have you been paying attention the last 20 years? We invaded Iraq, only to dismember it and turn the majority Shiite part over to Iran's Ayatollahs. Obama pushed Mubarak out, only to install the Muslim Brotherhood. Hillary wanted Khaddafy dead - which turned it into a failed state, and implant ISIS there. Obama and McCain pushed to overthrow Syria (using islamist groups like Al Nusra, which they conveniently called "freedom fighters") and resulted in the greatest refugee flow in Europe since WWII.

And meanwhile, the Karens in my town are sending out social media posts looking for help for the 1000 or so Afghanis now being transplanted in our neighborhood.

Can you please re-think our fake fight against Islam, because if you keep it up, we're all going to be Muslim soon.

ISIS doesn’t get those oilfields if we stop attacking the Syrian military and Russian mercs going after their own enemy, inside their own nation.

Why the nerve of the Syrian government, thinking they get to control their own land and pump their own oil.

I’m well aware of the “news”. The bottom line is that all these countries are *allowing* muslims to immigrate...hardly an armed incursion.

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t want to live in an Islamic Culture, but when muslims exist in Western nations, it’s by invitation. When westerners exist in predominatly muslim coutries it almost always becase they invaded and set up some form of puppet government prior to being there.

“There’s a lot to say for the ‘flypaper’ model of Afghanistan and Iraq.”

At some point, we crossed the line and now our interventions are creating the flies we are trapping. If you keep hitting a beehive, they get more and more angry.

So I would say we are less in flypaper mode, than we are the beehive mode.

All we’ve gotten from all of these interventions is a bunch of Muzzie refugees.

Without the non-stop wars in the middle east, we and the EU would not be flooded over with migrants, terrorists, and no-go zones.
Hell, we even allowed the 9/11 murderers into the country.

We face very little risk from them if we do not allow moslem immigration, and if our intelligence agencies focus outward.

Play with a turd, get poop on your fingers. We played in the Soviet client state of Somalia, not they own Minneapolis and have their own Congressfool.
Same in Iraq who we attacked because Saudi Arabia attacked us. Same in Syria. And it’s gonna be awesome when all these inbred low-IQ Afghans are everywhere.

Correction, the West has been responding to actions committed by those in the Middle East. Don’t act like we did anything in a vacuum...

“but when muslims exist in Western nations, it’s by invitation”

Not quite sure where you get this from... Living in Europe for the past three years no one was “inviting” the hoard at the Greek border, the Serbian border, the Hungarian border... The Italian coastline. No one.

The masses showed up and the likes of Germany and France blackmailed many countries to accept them, forced others. And the Socialists in Germany and France looked at it as cheap labor for them. Sad how this Continent as fallen.

True, starting with the Barbary Pirates war. But we didn’t stay and nation build in Libya.

One of the most idiotic things we did was to enshrine islam into the Afghan constitution and allow them to become an islamic republic, declaring that all laws must conform to islam.

Insane.

The US still has its terrorist training camp in Al Tanf, is still stealing Syrian wheat and oil. When the “no friends, but the mountains” Kurds find themselves deserted by the US, I will not shed a year. The PKK (Communist) is supported by a good many of them.

True. I don’t agree with nation building. I’m a firm believer is that War’s true purpose is to destroy the enemy, warriors and the country. period. If I had my way I’d happily pay $10 for a gallon of gas because we nuked the entire Middle East.

What we should do is establish my emBASEee strategee. From my homepage:

I have been advocating for several years a policy I call ‘embaseees’. Embassy + AirBase —> EmBASEeees. We go into a terrorist country, clear out their taliban equivalent, then withdraw to very large Embassies, perhaps 3 of them. Have them big enough to encompass a military airbase where we can use it for decades on end to conduct anti-terrorism operations. As long as the ‘host’ country aint killing Americans then we let them have self-sovereignty. Kind of like how we operated in the Phillipines for decades. We could even have an intermediate zone that we patrol but it would be autonomous. Let them have their taste of freedom. A referendum every 10 years to see how large the boundaries of the intermediate autonomous zone should be.
