After watching that press conference, it seemed to me that Mueller didn’t have any idea what was going on. Seems like he was just figurehead while Wiseman made all the decisions and handled the operation

18 USC 1001 ….. it’s normally the first thing a federal agent will advise you of as they interview you. It’s why you never talk to them.

Suspect stated that he got to the location at 230pm. Records indicate that he got there at 225pm. You lied. Can’t get you anything else, but we’ll get you for lying to an investigator.

As a young officer, the perps would rarely give me their real names. Used to charged them with providing false info to police. It was the first charged tossed by the judge during a preliminary hearing or suppression hearing. Lying to the cops was part of the game and they didn’t care.

Mueller and his merry band are guilty of untold felonies committed daily for a year and half. This putz attorney is the fall guy? Barr and Durham were just rubbing our noses in it. Does Trump realize yet that Barr was the key guy, with his coverup, in all of this?

All these special investigations are nothing more than the scummiest corrupt lawyers milking the tax payers for as long as possible.

DOJ will decline to prosecute.

Durham is the DOJ in this case. I don't think anyone in the DOJ can override Durham under the Special Counsel law - at least not legally. But I'm no expert.

There could still be lots of shenanigans I would think. I guess there will be DOJ lawyers assigned to make the pre-trial motions, and the legal arguments if it goes to trial. They could deliberately not be very aggressive, etc. If he's found guilty I don't know if Durham would be the one to recommend the sentence to the judge. If not the DOJ would probably request a very light punishment. If it's assigned to a Democrat judge they'd probably mete out the minimum punishment anyway.

If there is a trial, it will probably have an all Democrat jury. I have a strong hunch that the defense's main argument will be nakedly political, i.e. that Durham was appointed by Trump. If it's a Democrat judge they would probably permit such an atrocity.

So...the odds are probably against him spending a day in prison, even if the DOJ doesn't actually drop the charges.

So did the FBI break into his house at 6AM with guns drawn, and a Swat team and then ransack it? I would assume they did. /sarc

Rebuke him and send him on his way...he’s a democrat. If a republican he would deserve 24 x 7 news stories then jail and his house taken from him at the least.

Why is it, when our POLITICIANS engage in crimes, the “investigations” never seem to end up being about those original crimes?

After years of “investigation” - and getting paid MILLIONS of our tax dollars to do so, they ALL end in a few lowly inconsequential stooges going to jail a year for “lying to the FBI”..

We no longer have a justice system in this country.

I’ve seen reference that the SOL is this weekend. Meaning no plea agreement was reached as of yet, hence the indictment. There is some he said - she said to the facts of lying and not disclosing of the Hillary campaign being a client. There is no recording of the meeting.

US/FBI says Suss said he didn’t represent a client and was just being a good citizen reporting stuff he had learned. The billing records say otherwise. Also US/FBI guy had a phone call immediately after and that this guy’s written notes say Suss didn’t have a client - therefore, the lie. Indictment lays out lots of plotting and working with media...and billing Her Heinous.

It appears Sussman is taking the fall for the FBI who are still claiming they had no idea the Russia hoax was coming from the Clinton campaign. Despite Bruce Ohr literally sleeping with the Clinton campaign, etc.
