“It is cost ineffective to reopen decommissioned reactors. I’m all for building the next gen ones”

Evil Bill Gates and that phony Oracle from Omaha Buffet have already invested in opening a new Technology Liquid Sodium cooled Reactor. Of course it years away. As long as they own politicians there will be no recommissioning of idle Nuke Plants.

IF Trump were President, it would be a windfall for the US as he would be selling our natural gas to Europe.

The same people that were recently groaning about NordStream 2 and trying to “stop” the Russian pipeline from being built are now going to groan about “shortages”. Luckily, the pipeline is scheduled to come online any time now, so Russian gas will save the day.

Until Putin starts to turn the screws.

Of course it could happen, but we should be fair and acknowledge that neither the USSR nor the modern Russian Federation has ever used gas supplies for leverage. The gas has always flowed. (The exception being when Ukraine was actually stealing gas, and the Russians turned it off to stop them).

The only issue with this is that it is massively inefficient. Putting gas on ships and transporting it? It only makes sense in the absence of pipeline gas (hence all the hysterics about the Russian pipeline).
