There are so many people I know who go to the doctor or ER for the slightest of symptoms and/or pain.
The last place I would want to end up is in/at a hospital.
Recently, I got a 4 AM call from a friend needing a ride to the ER.
He’d tripped over the carpet in the dark and knocked his head against the wall. When he regained consciousness he was in a puddle of blood.
Got him there. We were there for about 5 hours before they were done. Little things, stop the bleeding, CAT scan to insure there was no dain bramage, clean up the wound well enough to stitch, tetanus shot, and paperwork.
One of the first things the doctor asked was ‘Have you had a COVID shot?’ ‘No.’ That was the totality of the COVID related interaction. I was pleased they didn’t try to push it...
They’re used as doctors’ offices here. A really sick person can’t even be seen at an ER here anymore. They triage you first but you still get to wait for hours while watching perfectly healthy to the eye people running in and out, smoking, eating, and having a jolly good time.
