Buchanan provides an articulate objection to foreign adventurism, but is is a non sequitur here. If there is a connection between the wars of the last 20 years and our “national divide,” he leaves us to guess as to what it might be.
That is probably because there really is no connection. The hatred of Bush had nothing to do with the Iraq war. Trump was arguably the first non-interventionist President since Herbert Hoover, but the very same people who hated Bush hated Trump even more. There are a number of reasons we are divided, but foreign adventurism isn’t one of them.
Shot to death? More like 'assassinated at point blank range'... Eff Bush and the totalitarian white trash 'elites' of DC.
Mark 13:8
King James Version
8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
Luke 12:52-54
King James Version
52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
54 And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.
What is Bush saying here?
That Ashli Babbitt, the Air Force veteran shot to death trying to enter the House chamber on Jan. 6, and Mohamed Atta, who drove an airliner into the North Tower of the World Trade Center in a massacre of close to 3,000 people, are “children of the same foul spirit.”
unintended consequences of the 19th amendment ...
Part of that connection is loss of trust in government. That has been a over riding theme for decades. Only now, some people have become more aware of it post Jan 06 and election. Trust and faith in government has been chipped away, failure by failure. Or, its simply part of a plan.
bump
in Bad taste
The point was this was actually on a Late Night show when Bush was President.
And these are the same people who now “love” the guy.
Truth!!
Correct.
Its not Russia but its the old Communist portion of the KGB who want revenge for the collapse of East Germany and the USSR.
Not questioning your view of W.
Just saying the caption is not in good taste. It implies calling for an act that we don’t need for good of country. Or for FR.
That caption was added by CBS, when the show was broadcast.
Of course. That's why GWB gets along so well with the Clintons and Obamas. None of these people are in politics because of humility and the desire to serve. Politics was their ticket to stature. Nothing more, except it was also a ticket to riches for the Clintons and the Obamas.
Really bad things come from parents who bring their children up to believe they are intrinsically better than and more important than others. Joe Kennedy appears to be one example.
I’ve done allot of research on the Bush family way on back to Prescott Bush. Very interesting. These people truly believe it is their family destiny to lord over the us.
OK. I would still never post anything like that.
The seeds of "political correctness," which included the initial disdain for the United States at what we stand for, were planted long before 2006.
I served in the Navy between 1985 and 1991. Immediately after that, I went to college and completed a four-year degree. Indeed, we were a unified country in 1991, but I remember researching, writing, and giving a speech (in a public speaking class), somewhere around 1992, that demonstrated how the elite colleges were already adopting anti-American practices.
I'm sure that even at that time, political correctness wasn't born--it probably grew from the anti-establishment, counter-culture of the 1960s, and maybe even from sympathizers of the Soviet Union in the 1950s.
You are absolutely correct. But the snowball headed for hell speed took off when the dems took Congress in 06. And it’s been gaining speed ever since.
