A group of LAPD employees have filed a federal lawsuit, challenging the city’s COVID vaccine mandate. The lawsuit was filed over the weekend in federal court by six Los Angeles Police Department workers, according to the Los Angeles Times. It claims that the mandate violates their constitutional rights to privacy and due process. “The city does not and cannot point to any evidence that vaccinated individuals have longer lasting or more complete immunity than those who have recovered from COVID,” according to the complaint, which names the city of Los Angeles, the police chief, mayor, and administrative officer. Recent data shows just about half of the department’s employees have not been vaccinated, which lags behind the general population. Several sworn LAPD employees and at least two civilians have died from complications of COVID since the pandemic began. The city of Los Angeles approved an ordinance last month requiring city employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID by early October, unless they are granted an exemption for medical or religious reasons, or face weekly testing. After the ordinance’s approval, a Los Angeles Fire captain’s tirade calling the vaccination requirement “tyranny” was posted on the Telegram app and shared on Twitter. The captain claimed that there were hundreds of firefighters who want to fight the requirement.

Federal Court to LAPD: “How does ‘take a hike’ sound to you?”
Hopefully the court will turn them and anyone else down who challenges the mandate. People need to be punished for their inaction and apathy. Besides, any court “loss” would just be ignored or tossed to another court or worked around via a loophole.
LAPD and LAFD should all call out sick for the week.
Could be. At some point, we will have to grapple with the inconvenient fact that natural immunity after infection is at least as effective as vaccination, and probably more effective.
I don't think this is about immunity, natural or otherwise. I think it's about rendering the Constitution a dead letter.
The mandate is to “protect the vaccinated”, according to Biden. I thought the vaccines did that. Do vaccines protect people or not? And if they don’t, then why would we mandate them?
Does natural immunity protect someone from reinfection? If so, why on earth would they be required to take a vaccine? They are already protected.
Involuntary medical treatments and group punishments are war crimes. On this basis alone, every single vaccine mandate should be tossed out by every court that has a challenge brought before it.
Yes, the mandate is likely unconstitutional if they are not allowing for exemptions, such as antibody test showing immunity.
Even Fowchie is wobbly on that point.
My non vax status is certainly not apathy nor inaction, but a reasoned weighing of risk/benefit based on my individual circumstances. So what sort of “punishment” do you believe is deserved here?
Note to LE everywhere: Keep this in mind the next time you allow yourselves to be used by Deep State’s myrmidons to deprive fellow citizens of their Constitutional rights.
Now have blue flu and leave your masters vulnerable.
Heil Safety!
Just let out your inner Fascist out there now didn’t you?
You take care of you and stop worrying about everyone else. Life will be much better for everyone
