Pretty much what we were here in PA last winter. Not much snow at all.
(heh)
The Jet Stream Wobbles through my area so we never know if the storms, both summer and winter, are going to hit hard or not. It’s always a toss up.
I’ve seen no snow at all only to drive three miles and it’s a whiteout and layers of snow in the trees and on the ground.
I’ll pick you up at Edmonton airport on January 17 and bring you out to my buddy’s farm to look after the horses. You won’t be quite so fond of winter after 2 weeks of minus 25 being the daily HIGH, with minus 40 or lower being the temperature you get to go out to thaw the water trough and feed the critters.
The air is crisp and clean and so cold your breath freezes your eyelashes together and you can’t see. Exposed skin suffers frostbite within 30 seconds, faster if there is a breeze, though when it’s that cold wind is rare unless there’s a storm.
You can dress against the cold, sure. That gets really old really fast.
Give me big bugs and warmth, thanks.
See my #44. That same offer goes for you too.
Oh I know...I was raised in north Ohio and I can remember winters we had to dig our way out of the front door. Those winds coming off the Erie were brutal. We could ice skate on our driveway some winters. I always had to walk to school. It was only 2-1/2 miles but with books and a trombone case, it wasn’t fun. Lived on a big hill and coming home from school was a lot of fun too. sledding was great though!
Tucker ate his lunch and Nye was absolutely furious.
At the very end, as they were closing, Nye fumed "We won't have another ice age".
1. Install the woodstove that's been sitting on the back porch for 5 years.
2. Get snow tires.
Just south of the 95 corridor here. Almost every storm comes right up the highway.
Sure seems like it.
I saw one of these weather rocks somewhere in Vermont years ago...the last line stated “If rock is gone...tornado!”
