Pretty soon, he won’t be answering any questions or speaking at all. He’ll just sit there with a microphone hiding his mouth, and the pre-recorded message will come out over the PA system. It’ll be like that old Star Trek episode. But late stage dementia sufferers don’t just stand there staring blankly. They babble and gesticulate wildly. When that happens, he’ll be replaced by a store mannequin capable of standing up and shaking hands of dignitaries.
