President Biden condemned Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., Greg Abbott, R-Texas, and other Republican governors on Thursday for their responses to COVID-19 and threatened to use his presidential powers to overrule their authority.
"And to make matters worse, there are elected officials actively working to undermine the fight against COVID-19," he said. "Instead of encouraging people to get vaccinated and mask up, they’re ordering mobile morgues for the unvaccinated dying from COVID in their communities.
"Right now, local school officials are trying to keep children safe in a pandemic while their governor picks a fight with them and even threatens their salaries or their jobs. Talk about bullying in schools," Biden also said.
"If they’ll not help, if these governors won’t help us beat the pandemic, I’ll use my power as president to get them out of the way," he added.
Biden specifically promised to reimburse teachers "whose pay is withheld from doing the right thing" by enforcing his administration's mask mandates. "We will have that pay restored by the federal government, 100 percent. I promise you.

Agreed about the educational approach. One of the TV stations in my region (I need a good outdoor antenna to receive them) has partially figured this out and has been doing a lot of 15 - 20 minute “pieces” in the 2nd half hour of their suppertime newscast: They mostly feature local PCP’s, ER or ICU Dept. heads, and such, and while some have been duds, or “whiners”, some have been very good.
Those of us old enough recall President Reagan’s approach: Persuasive, and using charts and graphs effectively. Never did he make out people he was trying to persuade as enemies, or threaten them. Instead, here we have Biden, taking a tack that, far from encouraging people who mistrust him and / or the gov’t to at least re-examine their position on at just this one issue, instead gives them MORE reason to fear, loath, and mistrust him / the Gov’t.
Big time.
The media will now go into action and use their every resource to trash these two.
The left goes back to the third grade of opponents to find someone who will say something bad about the Republican. The left, with the full cooperation of social media, searches postings for something they can get the Republican on.
The left has a set of willing whores lined up. Each one has a slightly different story about the Republican. When she gets the word, she releases her packet to the media which immediately treats it as absolute fact. The lady of the night receives her payment discretely.
The left is skilled at trashing good people. Looks like the slime machine will be rolled out real soon.
