Years back (mid '90's) I was friendly with the owner of a restaurant in SF, who knew Van from Belfast. He said to tour with Van, you had to know 300 songs.

Not sure if that was a bit of an Irish exaggeration or perhaps the Guinness talking, but it would not surprise me.
