“Profiteering” is a loaded term, usually related to weakening a nation’s military capabilities. Outside of that context, The Nazi party and the Stalinist communist nations used that as a term for a capitalist who deserves to be executed.
The drill is:
(1) Inflate the currency.
(2) Deny there is inflation.
(3) Blame the “profiteers” for inflation when even Stevie Wonder can see inflation.
(4) Put in price controls.
(5) Then ration because of shortages caused by price controls.
So boring, and so predictable....
